Welcome to Kwaggasrand School

The school was opened in 1982 with the aim to provide learners, who do not adequately benefit from the mainstream school curriculum of the primary and secondary schools, with an alternative which ensures that each learner reaches his/her maximum potential. This community school provides for a specific need, by following the National Technical Occupational Curriculum and strives towards producing self-sufficient adults who will make a positive contribution to our country's progress.

Education is offered in specific pre-vocational training. The academic and pre-vocational subjects are offered in an integrated manner to complement each other. The learners are credited with all grades and modules successfully completed when completing their school career.

Kwaggasrand provides education from Preparation Year to Year 4, as well as a Remedial Phase, with the language of teaching being English or Afrikaans for learners from the feeding areas in and around Pretoria, as prescribed by the Department.

At Kwaggasrand we believe in an holistic approach when helping learners to achieve their full potential.  We are fortunate enough to have a team of therapists, including an Occupational therapist, Speech therapist, Educational therapists, Psychologist, Social worker and a registered school Sister; all working together with the academic and vocational educators to assist learners in achieving their best.
